Techniques for planning and implementing artisanal practices for agri-food production based on the local food and wine tradition.

IFTS Cibo

The course is an IFTS specialization, Higher Technical Education and Training Programmes, (Fifth Level EQF Qualification) in the professional area Tourism and Sports.

Duration

The course duration is 1000 hours. 55% of them (550 hours) is dedicated to work experience (500 hours of internship and 50 hours of workshops). The 50 hours of workshops will include visits to local companies, cultural institutions, organisations and relevant local tourist sites as well as tours of local tourist itineraries.

Daily schedule

The in-house classroom training will be carried on in the afternoon (4/5 hours) or over the course of the entire day (7/8 hours) depending on the specific needs. The internship schedule will depend on the host structure timetable for a maximum of 8 hours per day and it will include workshop activities, study visits and hands-on training experiences.

Target audience

The course is open to 15/20 students. The participants need to be 29 years old or younger at the time of beginning the course and they need to be resident or domiciled in Lombardy. They also need either:

  • a high school diploma (Fourth Level EQF Qualification)
  • a Vocational Diploma as a Technician (Fourth Level EQF Vocational Qualification)
  • a certificate of admission to the fifth year of high school
  • if they don’t have a diploma, competencies acquired through education, training and work experience after completing the compulsory education period can be accredited for admission.

It is possible to obtain the IFTS qualification through the opportunities offered by an Apprenticeship, I Level – Italian Art. 43 Legislative Decree 81/2015.

The students will be selected through the review of relevant documentation and an interview. We will positively evaluate:

  • qualifications in the tourism and/or food area
  • specific interest in the themes of the course
  • soft skills
  • foreign language skills
  • previous experiences in the field, to be evaluated through a practical test as well as documentation and discussion
  • personal motivation
